A growing Managed Services Provider in Manchester are now looking for a 2nd Line Support Engineer to join their team, where you will be responsible for supporting diverse IT solutions from a variety of vendors, to clients across the UK across both the public and private sector. It’s a brilliant opportunity for you to work on some complex projects that will give you ample opportunity for learning and progression, eventually into 3rd Line Support, projects and beyond.

Your Role:

• Installation of Microsoft operating systems and server applications; server and desktop virtualisation; SAN / DAS; document management and security.
• Providing 2nd and some 3rd line support to clients and providing guidance to other members of the support team as required.
• Working with clients to provide both remote and on-site solutions.
• Managing the reliability of WAN and LAN technology to ensure optimal performance.

Your Profile:

• Experience working in a Managed Services environment, with the ability to support multiple client infrastructures.
• Knowledge and experience of deployment and administration of Windows Server environments (Active Directory, Exchange, Office),
• Knowledge of Virtualisation technologies – VMware, Citrix or Hyper-V.
• Networking – LAN, WAN. VPN, Routers, Switches.
• Backups, Security, Anti-virus etc.
• A desire to learn and continuously keep up to date with current and emerging technologies will enable you to be at the forefront of further projects and to work across their client portfolio.
• Ideally you will have one or more of the following: MCP, MCSE, CCA, CCE, VCA, VCP.
